Kentucky State Police Locate Missing Three-Month Old Missouri Baby

HICKORY, Ky. (November 18, 2024) – On Sunday, November 17th at 10:46am CT, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 dispatch received information from Cape Girardeau (Missouri) Police Department of a missing infant who was believed to be at a residence in the Hickory community of Graves County. KSP was informed that the infant was ordered to the custody of the Missouri Department of Social Services; however, it was believed the child’s biological mother had left the state with the child.

Less than 20 minutes after receiving this information, at 11:03am CT, troopers located the infant, who was found safe, along with her mother at a residence in Hickory. The infant was safely transferred to the care of Missouri Department of Social Services. The child’s mother, identified as Taylor Roldan, 29 years old of Cape Girardeau, MO was arrested and charged as a fugitive for a warrant issued by authorities in Missouri for Parental Kidnapping. Roldan was lodged at the Calloway County Jail awaiting extradition to Missouri.

KSP troopers worked in collaboration with Missouri law enforcement, Missouri Department of Social Services and Kentucky Department of Community Based Services to ensure the safety of the infant child in this case. Public safety is a team effort and we would like to thank everyone involved who worked together to ensure this child was safe.

The infant was also provided a Trooper Teddy bear. The Trooper Teddy program provides stuffed bears wearing a KSP shirt and campaign hat to children involved in traumatic incidents. Trooper Teddy bears can also be purchased to allow the program to remain self-funded.
