UPDATED: 4/5 Kentucky State Police Opens Death Investigation in Floyd County

(UPDATE)

(April 5, 2019) the death investigation is now a Murder Case.

 

Jordan C. Tackett (26) from East Point, has been positively identified as the victim in this case. Mr. Tackett was also the victim in a missing person case opened by the Kentucky State Police in February or this year.

 

In addition, Wesley Martin (44) from Wayland, has been charged with murder in connection with this case. Mr. Martin was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.

Wayland KY (April 4, 2019) Kentucky State Police Post 09 have opened a death investigation after discovering a body in a clandestine grave located in the yard of a residence in Wayland area of Floyd County.

 

Upon receiving information about the body, Troopers and Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence. Just after 4PM, a body was discovered buried in the back yard a short distance from the residence.

 

At this time, no arrest have been made in connection to this investigation. The body was removed by the Floyd County Coroner’s office, and will be taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and positive identification.
