
Lewis County Death Investigation
Garrison, KY. (May 13, 2020) –Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead received a call for assistance at approximately 12:28 a.m. from the Lewis County Dispatch with a shooting that had occurred at 6151 Kinney Road in the Garrison Community. It was reported that five individuals had received gunshot wounds, resulting in the death of one individual. After further investigation, it was determined that the five individuals were in the process of repossessing a 2004 Chevy Silverado at 6151 Kinney Road.
While at the residence, a dispute took place between the five individuals and Michael Justice, 47 years of age, of Garrison, KY. Thompson Biggs-Cox, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Aaron Cottrell, of West Portsmouth, Ohio and Bonnie Dalton, of West Portsmouth, Ohio were transported to area hospitals for gunshot wounds which they sustained during the altercation. All three individuals were transported by Portsmouth Ambulance Service.
Kari Biggs, 23 years of age, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, received a gunshot wound but refused treatment at the scene. Bryan Biggs, 37 years of age, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, was pronounced deceased at the residence by the Lewis County Coroner, Tony Gados. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, Vanceburg Police Department, Lewis County Coroner’s Office, Black Oak Fire Department, Vanceburg Fire Department, Garrison Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance Service.
Michael Justice was arrested for Murder (one count) and Assault 1st (four counts). Mr. Justice was lodged in the Lewis County Detention Center. This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead.
