Kentucky State Police Post 8 Arrest Three in Sexual Abuse Allegations in Fleming County

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (April, 28, 2026) –On Monday April 6, 2026 Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 Morehead received a new report of Sexual Abuse allegations stemming from an active investigation involving James Barnes Sr who had fled to Alabama in 2023.

Troopers responded to River Road in Fleming County and spoke with Joseph Stephan McClure, 39 of Flemingsburg Kentucky.  After a lengthy interview Mr. McClure was placed under arrest and lodged in the Mason County Detention Center on the following charges: Incest, Rape 1st degree, Sodomy 3rd degree (attempt) and Terroristic Threatening 3rd degree. Troopers also spoke with and arrested Aarin McClure, 38 of Flemingsburg Kentucky, charging her with Failure to Report Child Dependent Neglect/Abuse 1st degree.

This case remains under investigation by Trooper Tyler Smith.
