KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Estill County    

D. Rison, 48 years old of Irvine, was driving east on HWY-1571, where he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the centerline.

RAVENNA, Ky. (June 21, 2018) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 9:00 pm last night, in reference to a two vehicle collision that occurred on Millers Creek Road (HWY-1571), just east of Ravenna in Estill County. 

 

The initial investigation indicates that Stephen D. Rison, 48 years old of Irvine, was driving east on HWY-1571, where he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the centerline before colliding with a vehicle being operated by 39 year old Aimee Elliott.  As a result of the collision, Stephen Rison’s vehicle came to a stop well off the roadway on the other side of a nearby railroad track.  Rison was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Estill County Coroner, while Aimee Elliott and her passenger were taken to Marcum & Wallace Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Trooper David Hobbs.
