
KSP Investigates Response to Resistance in Harrison County
Kentucky State Police Detectives are continuing their investigation.
Cynthiana, KY (December 17, 2018) — On December 16 Kentucky State Police Dispatch received a call from Harrison County Dispatch in regards to a pursuit of a vehicle through Cynthiana. After the pursuit ended Kentucky State Police Detectives were requested to investigate the response to resistance.
Through the investigation it was determined that Harrison County Sherriff’s Department witnessed a vehicle driving extremely fast through the Thrift Food Mart parking lot. The officer with Cynthiana identified the driver as Jerry Hall, 32 of Cynthiana, who he knew had an active Probation and Parole warrant.
The emergency equipment on a marked Harrison County Sheriff’s vehicle were activated and the vehicle failed to stop. While running a stop sign at the intersection of Meadow Lane and US 62, a Cynthiana Police vehicle made contact with the fleeing vehicle.
Cynthiana Police then attempted to get the driver out of the vehicle. While attempting to do so Mr Hall accelerated away from units. A Cynthiana Police Officer fired shots from his service weapon striking both the front and rear driver side tires.
The vehicle driven by Mr Hall continued to flee from Cynthiana units, and one unit attempted to use legal intervention, PIT maneuver, but it was unsuccessful. The vehicle then lost control as it was attempting to negotiate a curve on Indian Creek and was unable to drive further.
Cynthiana Police Officers were able to take Jerry Hall into custody. He was lodged at Bourbon County Reginal Detention Center.
Kentucky State Police Detectives are continuing their investigation.
