
Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Grayson County
CLARKSON, Ky. (March 25, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a two-vehicle collision in Grayson County Monday afternoon that resulted in a fatality.
On March 24, around 3:30 P.M. CDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office requesting KSP investigate a two-vehicle collision near the 4000 block of Grayson Springs Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Charles E. Cann, 42, of Clarkson, was operating a 2007 GMC Sierra eastbound on Grayson Springs Road when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer operated by Bennie T. Sims, 68, also of Clarkson.
Cann was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grayson Co. Coroner’s Office. Sims was transported to Owensboro Twin Lakes Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
The affected portion of Grayson Springs Road was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office, Grayson Co. EMS, Clarkson Volunteer Fire Department and the Grayson Co. Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by reconstructionist Det. Kevin Dreisbach.
