Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Barren County

GLASGOW, KY. (July 11, 2025) – Just before 3:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police received a call requesting assistance with a fatal collision. Troopers went on scene on Scottsville Road at Finney Road. 

A preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2008 Yamaha Motorcycle operated by Zachary Raney, 19, of Glasgow was traveling southbound on Scottsville Road. Mr. Raney crossed the center and into the path of a white 2020 Freightliner operated by Daniel Pere Vega, 53, of Louisville, who was traveling northbound on Scottsville Road. Mr. Raney was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Barren County Deputy Coroner. There were no other injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Landon Key. He was assisted at the scene by Barren-Metcalfe EMS, Barren County Coroner’s Office, and other KSP personnel.
