Kentucky State Police Assist Multiple Agencies Attempting to Locate Fugitive in Hopkins County

Mortons Gap, Ky. (March 26, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 received a call from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in locating a suspect who fled on foot from a collision.  

Preliminary investigation reveals Jonathan Ray Ruby, 45, of White Plains KY fled from the scene after a physical altercation when deputies arrived.

Jonathan Ruby is described as a white male, 6’ 1”, 260 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a red shirt, and a black jacket.  

Jonathan Ruby is considered armed and dangerous. Ruby currently has multiple felony warrants including: fleeing or evading police, trafficking in a controlled substance, and parole violations. Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky State Police Aircraft Branch, Madisonville Police Department, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle.
