Kentucky State Police Post 2 Roadway Update
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (January 21, 2025) –Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 in Madisonville has responded to approximately 40 calls during the early morning hours of today, January 21, 2026. Troopers assisted three motorists and worked 30 collisions, three of which resulted in injuries. The majority of these collisions occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway between Caldwell County and Muhlenberg County and other Kentucky highways.
Kentucky State Police are working two separate collisions in the area that are impacting traffic flow. The Western Kentucky Parkway is currently reduced to one lane at the 83-mile marker on the northbound side in Caldwell County. Troopers have been on scene at KY-672 in Caldwell County, where two semi-trucks with trailers are blocking the roadway due to slick road conditions, expect traffic time to be delayed.
Kentucky State Police urge motorists to use extreme caution and expect delays when traveling throughout the Post 2 district and across the Commonwealth. Light rainfall is currently causing roadways to become slick and hazardous. Ice may be difficult to detect, as it can resemble wet pavement or appear clear to the eye. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and avoid travel unless necessary.
As temperatures continue to drop this evening and additional weather moves into the area over the weekend, everyone is encouraged to stay informed on local road and weather conditions.
