KSP Investigating Multi-Fatal Collision in McLean County

***UPDATE***

Calhoun, KY. (April 9, 2021)Kentucky State Police has arrested and charged Dylan Cole Howard, 24 of Calhoun with the following offenses related to the March 18th collision.

1) Murder – Three (3) counts

2) Assault, 1st Degree

3) Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree

4) Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance

5) Criminal Abuse, 1st Degree (Child 12 or under)

6) Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree

7) Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree

8) Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate

9) Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Insurance

10)Failure to Wear Seatbelts

Howard is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.

The investigation continues.

Calhoun, KY. (March 23, 2021): After further review of scale diagramming and on-scene evidence, troopers determined Dylan Howard was traveling northbound and crossed over sideswiping the dump truck driven by Brian Korb. Howard then crashed head-on into Joshua Fox who was following the dump truck heading southbound.

Dylan Howard and his juvenile passenger both have been released from the hospital.

The investigation is continuing.

Calhoun, KY. (March 18, 2021) Kentucky State Police Post 16 – Henderson received a call at 10:40 am of a multiple vehicle fatal collision on KY 81 about four-miles north of Calhoun.

Preliminary investigation reveals 35-year-old Joshua Fox of Nortonville, KY was traveling northbound on KY 81 in a 2007 Toyota Rav4. For an unknown reason, Fox crossed the centerline, sideswiping a southbound 2008 Kenworth dump truck driven by Brian Korb, 53 of Dawson Springs, KY. Fox then veered into the southbound lane striking a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Dylan C. Howard, 24 of Calhoun. Howard was airlifted from the scene to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana where his condition is unknown. Twenty-three year-old passenger Shawna Rodney and three year-old Emberlyn Howard both of Calhoun were pronounced dead on-scene by the McLean County Coroner. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was flown to Norton Hospital in Louisville for injuries sustained in the collision.

Fox was also pronounced dead on-scene.

Brian Korb, the operator of the dump truck, was not hurt; however, troopers arrested him for Operating Under the Influence.

Kentucky 81 was closed for over nine hours as KSP reconstructed the collision.

Moselyville (Daviess County) Fire Department, McLean County Coroner’s Office, McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Central District Fire Department and other agencies assisted troopers at the scene.

The investigation is on-going.
