Kentucky State Police Post 13 Investigates Breathitt County Fatal Collision
WATTS, Ky. (April 23, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 13 in Hazard is investigating a three-vehicle collision that claimed the lives of two people on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Troopers were notified of the crash at 11:13 a.m. on KY-15 in the Watts community of Breathitt County.
According to the preliminary investigation, a Dodge Avenger operated by Brandon Combs, 36, of Lost Creek, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry driven by Deanna Noble, 30, also of Lost Creek. Following the initial impact, the Camry was pushed into the path of a northbound commercial motor vehicle, resulting in a secondary collision.
Both Combs and Noble sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner’s Office. They were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsies. Toxicology results are pending.
Investigators determined that Noble was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Combs was not. The collision remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Kentucky State Police Detective Scott Caudill. # # #
