Kentucky State Police Post 12 Troopers and Officers Recognized at Annual Awards Ceremony 

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 28, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) honored 84 troopers, detectives and officers who went above and beyond the call of service in 2025. The KSP annual Sworn Awards Ceremony highlighted those who are dedicated to protecting Kentucky’s 120 counties with a mission of creating a safer commonwealth for future generations.

In 2025, KSP responded to 532,600 calls for assistance, conducted thousands of wellness checks during dangerous weather conditions, protected children from online predators, secured justice for victims, and assisted local law enforcement agencies as needed to promote safety throughout the commonwealth.

Recipients from the Post 12 area include:

• Detective Tyler Hunter was named the 2025 Post 12 Detective of the Year. Detective Hunter is a 12-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Jordan Thompson was named the 2025 Post 12 Trooper of the Year. Trooper Thompson is a 4-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Jude Remilien received the 2025 Guthrie Crowe Award, which is named in honor of the first KSP commissioner and is bestowed upon troopers or officers who sustain a severe wound or injury during the performance of their law enforcement duty. Trooper Remilien is a 4-year veteran of KSP assigned to the Public Affairs Branch.
• Sergeant Bo Cure received a Service Achievement Award. Sergeant Cure is a 27-year veteran of the agency.
• Sergeant Scott Brown received a Meritorious Service Award with a V-device. Sergeant Brown is a 26-year veteran of the agency.
• Detective Christopher Saunders was named the 2025 Electronic Crime Branch Detective of the Year. Detective Saunders is a 16-year veteran of the agency.
• Detective Joshua Richardson was named the 2025 DESI East Detective of the Year. Detective Richardson is a 23-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Darren Kinman was named the 2025 Special Operations Trooper of the Year. Trooper Kinman is a 17-year veteran of the agency.
• Officer Gregory Baxter was named the 2025 Facilities Security Officer of the Year. Officer Baxter is a 12-year veteran of the agency.
• Officer Mark Puckett was named the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer of the Year for the Central Region. Officer Puckett is a 13-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper James Phelps received a Citation for Bravery. Trooper Phelps is a 15-year veteran of the agency
• Lieutenant Eric Moore received a Meritorious Service Award. Lieutenant Moore is a 14-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Dustin Thompson received a Citation for Bravery. Detective Thompson is a 19-year veteran of the agency
• Trooper Aron Jones received a Meritorious Service Award. Trooper Jones is an 11-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Dackary Larkey received a Meritorious Service Award. Trooper Larkey is a 12-year veteran of the agency.
• Trooper Justin Flannery was named the KSP Academy Trooper of the Year. Trooper Flannery is a 9-year veteran of the agency.
