Kentucky State Police Post 12 Investigates Single-Vehicle Fatality

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (June 7, 2026) The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 12 in Frankfort investigates a fatal collision that occurred Sunday, June 7, 2026. The single vehicle collision occurred around 3:50 PM near 1346 Willisburg Road (KY-53) in Anderson County.

KSP Post 12 was notified by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office around 4:15 PM of the collision. KSP personnel arrived at the scene and observed a three-wheeled motorcycle, operated by Carol Jean Olson, age 61, of Faribault, Mn., had crashed in a sharp curve while traveling on KY-53.

The preliminary investigation shows Ms. Olson was the sole occupant of the three-wheeled motorcycle. While traveling south on KY-53, Ms. Olson lost control around a sharp curve in the roadway and was thrown from her vehicle. As a result, Ms. Olson then died after striking the base of a road sign.

KSP was assisted by Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson County EMS and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office. Trooper Austin Beasley is the lead investigator and was assisted by other KSP personnel. The next of kin were notified and the investigation is still pending.
