Kentucky State Police Arrest a Shelby County Jail Employee
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (April 8, 2025) –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 12 in Frankfort was requested to investigate a complaint on Friday, April 4th at the Shelby County Detention Center involving a female inmate and a jail employee. The allegations involved potential inappropriate behavior by a jail employee on April 1st, 2025.
Through the course of the investigation, Post 12 detectives discovered that the jail employee, while on duty, engaged in inappropriate sexual advances toward a female inmate. The employee was identified as Ladonis Mayfield, 31, from Taylorsville, Kentucky.
On April 7, 2025, Mr. Mayfield was arrested and lodged in the Oldham County Jail, and charged with two counts of Sodomy 3rd degree. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
