UPDATED 12/24 – Kentucky State Police Investigates Shooting in Shelbyville

UPDATE – Frankfort, KY. (December 24, 2018) – Detectives from KSP Post 12 and Critical Incident Response Team are continuing their investigation in the shooting death that occurred at 638 Southlawn Drive in Shelbyville.
The victim has been identified as Jon Monroe, 53, Eminence, KY. An autopsy is expected to be conducted today at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, KY.
The shooting remains under investigation and more information will be released as the investigation continues.

Frankfort, KY. (December 23, 2018) – Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 12, Frankfort and Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team are investigating a shooting that occurred at 638 Southlawn Drive in Shelbyville, KY.
Preliminary investigation has shown that on Sunday, December 23rd, at approximately 7:38 p.m., unknown person(s) fired multiple shots into the residence, striking one of the occupants. That person was transported by ambulance to Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville, where they were pronounced dead by the Shelby County Coroner, Jeff Ivers. The identity of the victim will be released pending notification of next of kin. After firing the shots, unknown person(s) fled the area and have not been located at this time. It is not clear what prompted the shots to be fired.
Troopers are currently on scene and the investigation is ongoing. Information will be released as the investigation continues.
