Kentucky State Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Whitley County

WILLIAMSBURG, KY — On Monday, September 22, 2025, at approximately 9:59 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London, was notified by Whitley County 911 of a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on Interstate 75 northbound near the 13-mile marker, just north of the Williamsburg city limits.

Trooper Josh Roaden responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that, a  2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Scott Szczesny, age 48, of Trevor, Wisconsin.

Mr. Szczesny was traveling northbound on I-75 when, for unknown reasons, he exited the right shoulder and entered a wooded area. Whitley County EMS arrived and attempted life-saving measures. Mr. Szczesny was pronounced deceased on scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office at 10:55 AM.

Mr. Szczesny was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor.

The investigation remains ongoing by Trooper Josh Roaden. He was assisted by KSP personnel, Whitley County EMS, and Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
