The Kentucky State Police Post 11, London, Investigates Shooting in Clay County

MANCHESTER, KY (June 13, 2026) – On June 13, 2026, around 2:00 a.m. EST, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11 London received a shots-fired complaint at a residence on Portersburg Rd. in Manchester, from Clay County 911. The initial caller reported that a family member was at their residence and was threatening to harm them, followed by a series of gunshots.

Upon arrival, Troopers located Jeremy Oliver, 23 years old of Manchester, KY, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Troopers treated Mr. Oliver by placing a chest seal on Mr. Oliver, turned over care to Clay County EMS, who continued treatment and transported him to St. Joseph Hospital in London. Mr. Oliver was later transported to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation determined that Mr. Oliver came to the residence of his parents, while intoxicated, and began a verbal argument, which escalated and ended in Mr. Oliver receiving a gunshot wound to the torso. The family attempted to transport Mr. Oliver to the hospital, but was unable to do so successfully.

This investigation remains ongoing by Trooper Judd Weaver. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel, Clay County EMS, and the Manchester Police Department.
