
Kentucky State Police Post 1 Arrests Louisville Man for Felony Assault
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (September 9, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 troopers have arrested a Louisville man after he assaulted a trooper on I-24 in Livingston County.
While on routine patrol on September 8th at 3:26 pm CT, KSP Post 1 Trooper Landon Stewart observed a pedestrian, later identified as Ravon Briggs, walking on the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge. Trooper Stewart stopped to check on Mr. Briggs and assist him off the interstate, as pedestrians are not permitted to walk along limited access highways, and Trooper Stewart was concerned for Mr. Briggs’ safety. Mr. Briggs refused to identify himself and comply with Trooper Stewart’s directions to stop walking. After Mr. Briggs failed to comply with multiple verbal commands, Trooper Stewart attempted to take Mr. Briggs into custody, at which time Mr. Briggs assaulted Trooper Stewart while still on the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge. Trooper Stewart was able to take Mr. Briggs into custody and was assisted by a passing motorist.
Ravon Briggs, 28 years old of Louisville, KY, was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd Degree – Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, and Stop/Stand/Park on Limited Access Highway. It was also discovered that Mr. Briggs had 3 warrants for his arrest. He was additionally served with those warrants and lodged at the McCracken County Jail.
Trooper Stewart did sustain a minor injury. KSP would like to thank the kind citizen who witnessed the incident and stopped to render aid to Trooper Stewart.
