Kentucky State Police Post 1 Charges McCracken Man with Official Misconduct
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 22, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 detectives have charged a McCracken County man with multiple misdemeanor offenses following an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
On May 11, 2026, KSP Post 1 received a call from McCracken County High School reporting inappropriate actions by School Resource Officer Darrin Frommeyer that had been reported to school administrators by a student. During the investigation, the student explained that Officer Frommeyer had accessed her cellphone without her permission and took “selfie” photos of himself on her phone two different times. It was also reported that Officer Frommeyer contacted the student multiple times through the social media platform TikTok and interacted with her Instagram account.
Officer Frommeyer was employed by the McCracken County School System as a School Resource Officer at the time of the reported incidents. Officer Frommeyer communicated with the student outside of the designated traceable communication system at least three separate times, in violation of KRS 160.145. Due to Officer Frommeyer being a public servant, the reported violations lead to the criminal offenses of Official Misconduct 2nd Degree. Officer Frommeyer has since resigned from his position with the McCracken County School System.
Darrin Frommeyer, 58 years old of Paducah, has been charged with three (3) counts of Official Misconduct 2nd Degree and two (2) counts of Unlawful Access to a Computer 4th Degree.
The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Sergeant Brian Hill.
