
Kentucky State Police Searching For Missing McCracken County Man Amidst Flooding

KEVIL, Ky. (April 7, 2025) – The deceased body of Lee Chandler has been recovered from floodwaters. Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, McCracken County Rescue Squad, Ballard County Sheriff’s Department, Ballard County Rescue Squad, Marshall County Rescue Squad, and Trigg County Rescue Squad assisted in the recovery of Mr. Chandler.

KEVIL, Ky. (April 7, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 troopers, along with other law enforcement and emergency management are currently searching for a missing man in McCracken County whose boat was swept away in floodwaters.
Lee Chandler, 27 years old of LaCenter, KY was last seen around 3:45pm CT on April 6th in the 8000 block of Elliot Road in Kevil (McCracken County) when he was swept away by floodwaters as he attempted to retrieve his boat. The boat has been located; however, Mr. Chandler is still missing. Mr. Chandler is described as a white male, 6′ 4″ tall, 195 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Law enforcement and other emergency services are utilizing all available resources, including boats and drones, to search for Mr. Chandler. We would like to remind the public to use extreme caution and avoid flooded areas. Waters continue to rise in many areas. Never drive, walk, or attempt to swim into floodwaters as the conditions below the water are unknown and flood currents are often much stronger than they appear on the surface.
