Kentucky State Police Post 1 Enhances Public Safety With Promotion of Troopers and Officers
MAYFIELD, Ky. (November 26, 2024) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) recently held a Promotional Ceremony to recognize 19 troopers and officers who have been promoted into leadership roles since Nov. 1, 2023, including one major, one captain, three lieutenants and 14 sergeants, with a mission of creating a better Kentucky through public safety efforts and service.
Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett Jr. presented the awards to the recipients. Commissioner Burnett encouraged the newly promoted troopers and officers at the ceremony to lead with integrity.
“Real leadership isn’t about holding authority; it’s about caring for those under your guidance,” said Commissioner Burnett. “It’s about inspiring and empowering others to achieve excellence through integrity. I’m proud of your dedication throughout this promotional process and look forward to seeing you move our agency forward.”
Post 1 area promotions include:
- Trooper Nathan M. Clinkenbeard was promoted to sergeant and is assigned to Post 1, Mayfield.
- Trooper Brian D. Hill was promoted to sergeant and is assigned to Post 1, Mayfield.
- Trooper Joshua L. Neace was promoted to sergeant and assigned to Post 1, Mayfield before transferring to Post 14, Ashland.
Post 1 Commander David Archer said, “These three sergeants bring with them a wealth of agency experience. Their promotions will not only enhance our agency’s ability to respond to complex and dynamic situations but also pave the way for servant leadership that will grow our younger generation of troopers. I look forward to their future contributions to not only Post 1 but the agency as a whole.”
