KSP Investigating Officer Involved Shooting In Hardin Co.

 

Glendale, KY – The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating an Officer involved shooting incident that occurred yesterday evening in Glendale, KY.

 On Thursday, February 8th, at approximately 5:30 EDST, a Hardin County Deputy Sheriff was attempting to locate a vehicle that was reported to be driving recklessly and possibly under the influence of alcohol. The Deputy located the vehicle traveling on Ky 222. That particular vehicle then turned off of KY 222 and onto Bacon Creek Rd. with the Hardin Co. Deputy and a Kentucky State Trooper stopping the vehicle. After a brief interaction with law enforcement, shots were fired by the Hardin Co. Deputy and the suspect was struck. He was later airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

The Hardin Co. Deputy Sheriff has been placed on paid Administrative leave per Department policy. The investigation is ongoing by the KSP Critical Incident Response Team.

The investigation is in its preliminary stages and further details will follow as the investigation continues.
