HARDINSBURG, KY – Kentucky State Police Post 04 Detectives charged a 14 year old Breckinridge County male juvenile with Attempted Murder this afternoon.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at approximately 10:05 A.M. EDST KSP Post 4 received a call from the Hardinsburg Police Dept. requesting assistance with an investigation at the Breckinridge Co. Middle School. School administrators, acting on information and familiarity with the 14 year old, searched the student when he came into the building at the beginning of the school day. A large knife was found in the juvenile’s belongings at which time the Hardinsburg Police was immediately called. Upon further investigation by School Administrators, and KSP Detectives, the juvenile admitted that he intended to use the knife to stab other students. He was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder. He was Court Ordered to be detained in Juvenile Detention until a hearing date can be set. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Detective Adam Hutchison.
