KSP Investigates Fatal Crash in Pike County

Draffin, KY (April 23, 2018) Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post 09, are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on US 460 in the Draffin community.

 At 1:20 PM Kentucky State Police Post 09 received a call of a two vehicle accident on the Regina Belcher Highway.

 Upon Troopers arrival it was determined Dakota Compton (17) of Regina was traveling West on US 460. He apparently  lost control of the vehicle he was operating.  The vehicle then crossed the center of the highway and was rear ended by a commercial vehicle which was traveling east. 

 Dakota Compton was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

 Assisting agencies at the scene were Trans-Star Ambulance service, and the Elkhorn City Fire Department. 

 The collision is being investigated, and reconstructed By Sergeant Dixon of the Kentucky State Police.
