UPDATE: Kentucky State Police Requests Assistance in Locating Two Missing Juveniles

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (June 28, 2024) – Both juveniles have been located and are safe.

SHELBY VALLEY, Ky. (June 28, 2024) –The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post is asking for the public’s assistance as part of an ongoing missing person investigation.

KSP Post 9 was contacted on June 28, 2024, regarding two missing juveniles in Pike County.  The initial investigation indicated Mollie Evans, 12 years old of Shelby Valley, KY, and Layla Johnson, 12 years old of Shelby Valley, KY, was last seen on June 27, 2024 around 11:00 p.m. in the Shelby Valley community of Pike County.

Mollie Evans is described as a white female, 5’2” tall, 120 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and pajama pants.

Layla Johnson is described as a white female, 5’3” tall, 150 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black shirt and gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information about their location is asked to contact KSP Pikeville Post at 606-433-7711.

The investigation is ongoing by Post 9 Trooper Terry Mounts.
