Kentucky State Police Morehead Investigate Fatal House Fire

Morehead, Ky. (October 11, 2024) – Kentucky State Police Morehead responded to 2270 Christy Creek Road in Morehead, in reference to a residential fire.

Upon arriving on scene, Troopers were informed by Morehead Firefighters that after the fire was extinguished, they located a body inside the residence.  The victim identified was Stanley R. Erwin, 62 years of age, of Morehead. Mr. Erwin was pronounced deceased on scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. 

Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Rowan County Coronor’s Office and Morehead Fire Department.
