Kentucky State Police Apprehends Wanted Indiana Man in Simpson County

Franklin, KY. (July 23, 2024) – At approximately 9:00 am The Kentucky State Police Post 3 received information that Cody Medsker, 28, of New Castle, IN is wanted for kidnapping and was traveling south on interstate 65. 

Post 03 received information that Medsker was in a 2016 red Chevrolet Silverado and that he was in the area of exit 6 in Franklin. Medsker was spotted in the One 9 Fueling Station by Drug Task Force, when he exited the station through the rear. Medsker fled to a near by corn field where he hid from authorities until Kentucky State Police K-9 and aircraft assets responded to the scene. Medsker was then taken into custody and charged with: 

• Wanton Endangerment (Police Officer)
• Fleeing/Evading
• Resisting Arrest 
• Indecent Exposure 

Medsker is currently wanted in Indiana for criminal confinement with bodily injury, burglary, two counts of rape and two counts of child molestation. Medsker was taken to the Simpson County Jail. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Franklin Police Department, Simpson County Sherriff’s Office, Simpson County Emergency Management and other KSP personnel.
