Kentucky State Police Post 3 Investigates Fatal Collision in Simpson County 

FRANKLIN, KY. (October 13, 2024) – On October 13, 2024 at 2:53 a.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 3 responded to the area of the 6 mile marker of southbound Interstate 65 in Simpson County in reference to a motor vehicle collision.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2010 white Chevrolet Silverado operated by Alberto Andres (24) of Portland Tennessee, was south bound on Interstate 65 when it left the traveled portion of the roadway on to the outside shoulder and collided with the rear of a trailer connected to a 2006 Freightliner commercial vehicle occupied by Tiras Prothro (41) of Chicago Illinois.

A passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado, Bartolo Freciso (24) of Portland TN, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Simpson County Coroner’s Office. Andres was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with unknown injuries. Prothro was uninjured in the collision. Troopers were assisted on the scene by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County EMS and the Simpson County Fire Department. This investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by KSP Detective Bo Hubbard.
