Kentucky State Police Charge Greenup Co. Man With Child Exploitation Offenses
**UPDATE** Greenup, Ky. (December 18, 2024) – Authorities have no reason to believe additional juveniles are involved. However, the Kentucky State Police urge parents to have open conversations with their kids about these issues.

GREENUP, Ky. (December 18, 2024) – On December 16, 2024, at approximately 4:42 a.m., the Kentucky State Police arrested Jeremy Irvin, 29, following an investigation into inappropriate communications with a juvenile. The investigation resulted from information received from the Ashland Police Department showing text messages from Mr. Irvin soliciting explicit images from the minor.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Greenup, KY on December 16, 2024. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and will be taken to a forensic lab for examination. Mr. Irvin was employed as a bus driver for Ashland Independent Schools. Authorities have reason to believe additional juveniles may be involved.
Irvin is charge with multiple counts of Possession of Matter Portraying a Minor Under the Age of 12 in a Sexual Performance. This charge is a Class-C felony punishable by 5-10 years in prison. Irvin was also charged with Promoting a Minor Under the Age of 12 in a Sexual Performance. This charge is a Class-B felony punishable by 10-20 years in prison.
Mr. Irvin was lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center as the case remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police. Parents and guardians are encourage to speak with their children and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
